Dr. Morayo Afolabi-Brown Unveils MAB Studios

Media personality, and former managing director, TVC Entertainment, Dr. Morayo Afolabi-Brown officially opened the MAB Studios (Morayo Afolabi-Brown Studios) in Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos, on Thursday 18th December.
MAB Studios Official Opening
The programme was hosted by Arike Owolagba, while Pastor Charles Bande of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) set the tone for the event by delivering the opening prayer.
In attendance were several notable personalities. Among them were billionaire businesswoman Mrs Ibukun Awosika, Nollywood veteran Joke Silva, and broadcast journalist as well as project management consultant Kayode Akintemi. Also present was Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, Chairman of the Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area. Additionally, Dr Busola Tejumola, Executive Director of MultiChoice Nigeria, was among the distinguished guests, alongside other prominent figures.

Studio Development and Programme Preview
A documentary screening detailed the development of the studio from its foundation to completion. It highlighted different sections of the studio facility as well. The programme preview showcased the format, featuring audience participation, panel discussions, and demonstrations of how guests and audience members would interact during the show.
Dr. Afolabi-Brown On Her Media Vision
Dr. Afolabi-Brown explained in her address that she left television broadcasting to pursue an independent media vision, describing the process as challenging but supported by people who believed in the vision.
This journey started with a decision to step out and follow a dream. It was not easy, but with the support of many people, this dream has now become a reality.
Speaking with HipTV, Dr. Afolabi-Brown expressed her excitement at the takeoff of the studio. “This is not just a place to express yourself,” she said. “It is also a place to think about solutions. I hope this show brings peace, joy, and understanding to people.”
Purpose Of the Show And Partnerships
Dr. Afolabi-Brown said he created the studio and its main show to give people a structured platform for expression and discussion. She explained that the programme would address political and economic issues without promoting any political or religious agenda.
“This show is not just about talking,” she said. “It is a space where people can express themselves freely and discuss issues affecting Nigeria and the world.” She added that the programme would air live on social media platforms. The show is partnering with News Central, TVC Entertainment, and NTA Lagos.
Reactions From Family and Colleagues
Mrs Bolanle Ogudu, Dr. Afolabi-Brown’s aunt, described the launch as a proud moment for the family. “Morayo has always been a leader, and I am happy to celebrate her today and I hope she continues to do more.”
Former colleague Ms Kemi Sholomi, Director of People’s Congress at TVC, said building an independent media platform required determination. She described the studio launch as a moment of achievement.
It is not easy to step out on your own and build something new. Morayo did it, she said.
