Jeriq fills up Nnamdi Azikwe stadium in Enugu for landmark concert

Rapper Jeriq sold out the Nnamdi Azikwe stadium in an impressive feat.

On December 21 Jeriq filled up the 22,000-capacity Nnamdi Azikwe stadium in Enugu in the latest edition of his Jeriqhood concert.

In a clip posted on X, the rapper described the sold-out concert as a dream come through. The video captured the aerial view of the sold-out stadium where fans filled up to the stadium to support Jeriq who is one of the most famous musicians from eastern Nigeria

The magnitude of the turnout has sparked reaction on social media where fans commended the rapper for spotlighting Enugu state and eastern Nigerian through his music.

Since breaking into the mainstream, Jeriq has become one of the most sought-after voices in Nigerian music. His distinguishing baritone and chest-thumping flows delivered in flowery Igbo language have made him a rapper of note.

Jeriq’s prowess was recognised by superstar rapper Phyno whom he credits as one of his biggest inspirations. His landmark concert also is reminiscent of Phyno’s mega Phyno Fest concert that attracts multiple superstars to Enugu annually.

For the Nigerian music industry, Jeriq’s sold-out show in Enugu is a reminder of the potential that abound in the country where touring as a means of revenue is yet to be fully unlocked.
